Golden Rock Pagoda

Wat Ko Sire or Golden Rock Pagoda is situated on a hilltop on Siray Island. Climbing up offers impressive sea and island views over Sapam Bay and Tukkae Cape, plus also of Phuket Town. The temple has about 100 stairs that is lined with pray bells and dragons, that protect the temple from bad spirits. The stairs lead up to the Nakas architecture Ordination Hall, where inside is a reclining Golden Buddha, over 18 metres in length. Next to the hall there is a huge, stunning, golden Kyaiktiyo Pagoda. It is free to enter the temple but it is suggested you make a donation in one of the boxes. Please ensure that you are correctly, modestly dressed.
