Restaurant Tu Kab Khao

Tu Kab Khao restaurant has received a Michelin Guide BIB Gourmand rating. Set in a grand Chino-Portuguese building, Tu Kab Khao is an elegant, atmospheric restaurant. Portraits of the Royal Family grace its walls, along with one of the owner’s mother, Khun Linchii, whose recipes inform the menu. The cuisine is distinguished by high-quality ingredients – don’t miss the subtly spiced crab curry with rice vermicelli. The front area has a homely feel while the Portuguese-tiled rear room offers more privacy. The menu is extensive and prices are moderate. The meaning of the name Tu Kab Khao in Thai is a small closet every Thai house had a long time ago to keep the food safe from ants and flies for the next meal. The feet of that closet was placed in a bowl of water to keep the ants away.
